This Privacy Policy describes how IndicLens (“we”, “us”), operating the website indiclens.com from the Mumbai / Thane region of Maharashtra, India, collects and uses information when you use our service.
1. What IndicLens is
IndicLens is an online reflection tool that helps visitors explore questions in light of verses from the Bhagavad Gita, using search, caching, and AI-assisted text generation — including optional spoken narration and voice input when signed in. We are not a religious institution, temple, or licensed counselling service.
2. Information we collect
- Questions you ask — stored so we can show answers, improve caching, and (if you are signed in) list them under “My reflections”.
- Voice input — if you use the mic, audio is sent for transcription so your question can be processed as text.
- Account email — if you sign in with an email code, we store your email to authenticate you and manage your account settings.
- Usage data — such as view counts, feedback (helpful / not helpful), guest browsing limits, credit balance, and technical logs needed to operate the service.
- Payment information — when you buy credits, Razorpay or Stripe process your payment. We receive confirmation details (such as payment ID, amount, currency, and status) and link them to your account. We do not store your full card number, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials on IndicLens servers.
- Browser identifiers — a guest identifier and session token may be stored in your browser (localStorage) to enforce daily limits and keep you signed in.
- Contact form — if you write to us, we receive the name, email, subject, and message you submit.
- Public reflections preference — if you opt in, we mark that you allow anonymised sidebar display; we do not show personal details in public lists.
3. How we use information
- Provide answers, cached reflections, autocomplete, and account features.
- Send sign-in emails when you request them.
- Respond to contact messages you send via our form.
- Moderate public sidebar content, block personal information, and improve quality.
- Process credit purchases through Razorpay (India) or Stripe (international), grant credits to your account, and handle billing support.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
4. AI and third-party services
Your questions are processed using cloud infrastructure and AI services to retrieve and generate reflections grounded in our verse database. Spoken narration and voice input may use separate speech synthesis and transcription services. Credit purchases use Razorpay (India) and Stripe (international); those providers process payment data under their own terms and security practices. These providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Sharing
We do not publish your full questions with identifying details unless you explicitly opt in to public reflections and the text passes our privacy checks. We may share data with service providers (hosting, email, Razorpay, Stripe, and AI/speech infrastructure) strictly as needed to run indiclens.com, or when required by law or valid legal process in India.
6. Retention
We retain questions, answers, and account data for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account-related data by contacting us through the contact form.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a small online service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Your choices
- You may browse as a guest without signing in (subject to daily view limits).
- Signed-in users can control the “Share my reflections publicly” setting in account settings.
- You may clear site data in your browser; this may sign you out or reset guest limits.
9. International users (EEA, UK, and elsewhere)
IndicLens is operated from India. If you use the service from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other countries outside India, we still apply this policy. Our lawful bases for processing include: performing our contract with you (providing reflections and account features), your consent where applicable (for example public sharing settings), and our legitimate interests in running, securing, and improving the service.
We use service providers that may process data outside your country, including in India, the United States, and other regions where Cloudflare, OpenAI, Resend, Razorpay, or Stripe operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers under their terms and security practices.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us via the contact form. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Where GDPR or similar law applies, we will respond within a reasonable period (typically within one month).
10. Children
IndicLens is intended for users who can understand and consent to these terms. If you are under 18, use the service with a parent or guardian’s knowledge.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.

13. Governing law
