Frequently asked questions

What is IndicLens?

IndicLens is a web service at indiclens.com that answers your questions using relevant verses from the Bhagavad Gita, with AI-assisted explanation. It is for study, curiosity, and contemplation — including life's harder questions.

Is IndicLens free?

Browsing popular reflections is free for guests (with a daily view limit). Asking your own questions and using voice or Listen features requires a signed-in account and uses credits. See How credits work for rates and packs.

How do credits work?

Credits are prepaid units to ask questions on IndicLens. 1 credit = one text question · 2 credits = voice input or Listen on an answer · replaying narration you already paid for on the same question is free. New accounts receive 3 starter credits on sign-up. Packs are one-time purchases — there is no subscription.

Full rates, pack prices, GST, and payment methods are on Credits & pricing — How credits work.

Why does IndicLens use credits?

Running search, generation, and optional narration has meaningful cost. Credits keep usage transparent without locking you into a monthly plan. The Gita itself is freely available for learning; credits pay for the technology service only. See About IndicLens and How credits work on the pricing page.

Billing and refunds

This section describes billing and refunds for IndicLens credit purchases. Pack prices and credit usage are on Credits & pricing; these Terms also apply: Terms of Use.

What you are buying

IndicLens sells prepaid credits for asking questions on the service (verse search, AI-generated answers, and optional spoken narration). Credits are digital content delivered to your signed-in account. They are not a subscription to the Bhagavad Gita text itself, have no cash value, are non-transferable between accounts, and do not expire while your account remains active.

Payments from India are processed by Razorpay (INR, including GST where applicable). Payments from outside India are processed by Stripe (USD). We do not store your full card number, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials on IndicLens servers.

No subscription

IndicLens sells one-time credit packs, not recurring subscriptions. There is no monthly plan to cancel. Once payment succeeds, credits are added to your account immediately. If you do not want to buy again, simply do not purchase another pack when your balance runs out.

If you abandon checkout before payment is confirmed, no charge should go through. If your bank shows a temporary hold, it usually releases automatically within a few days.

By completing a purchase, you request immediate delivery of credits to your account.

Refunds

Completed purchases are not refundable. We do not refund because you changed your mind, did not use credits, or were unhappy with an answer. You can stop buying further packs at any time.

We only correct payment errors in exceptional cases:

When we do not refund

Reporting a payment error

Use the contact form, choose Billing as the subject, and include your IndicLens sign-in email, the payment date and amount, and the Razorpay or Stripe payment ID from your receipt. We verify against our records before correcting the account or issuing a refund through the payment provider.

Chargebacks and payment disputes

Please contact us through the contact form before disputing a charge with your bank or card issuer. We log payments and credit grants by account and payment ID and will try to resolve billing issues quickly.

If you file a chargeback without contacting us first, we may suspend the account while the dispute is investigated. If a chargeback is decided in your favour, any unused credits from that payment may be removed from your account. If it is decided in our favour, the payment stands.

Receipts and records

After a successful payment, credits appear in your account balance. Razorpay and Stripe send payment confirmations to your email. We retain payment references (amount, currency, pack, payment ID, credits granted, date) for billing support and legal record-keeping.

Credit packs (reference)

Current India packs (INR, GST inclusive): Starter 10 credits ₹82.60 · Standard 25 credits ₹206.50 · Extended 50 credits ₹413.00. International USD packs and GST details are on Credits & pricing. Prices may change; the pricing page shows current rates.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our pricing, payment providers, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Purchases are governed by the policy in effect at the time of payment.

Do I need to sign in?

You can browse many reflections without signing in. To ask a new question of your own, you sign in with a 6-digit code sent to your email — enter it on the same device where you started sign-in. You can choose to stay signed in on your browser until you sign out.

Is this professional or medical advice?

No. IndicLens is for contemplation only. It is not counselling, therapy, medical advice, or emergency support. If you need mental health care, see a licensed professional in your country. Read our disclaimer.

Does IndicLens replace reading the Gita or learning from a teacher?

No. The Gita is freely available for universal learning, and many translations, commentaries, and teachers remain the best path to its full depth. IndicLens is meant to walk beside that study — useful when a question arises and you would welcome a reflection in that moment — not to replace traditional learning.

What are Listen and voice features?

When signed in, you can tap Listen to hear an answer spoken aloud, or use the mic to ask by voice. See How credits work for credit use per action.

How does IndicLens use AI?

The service searches a curated Gita corpus for verses related to your question, then generates a reflection that references those verses. Answers may be cached so similar questions load faster. AI output can vary; always verify against source texts.

What are Popular Reflections?

Popular Reflections are questions other visitors have explored, shown with lightly edited wording for clarity. Only questions from users who opted in to share publicly appear there, and personal details are not displayed. You control sharing in account settings when signed in.

Is my question private?

Your questions are processed to generate answers and may be stored to improve caching and service operation. If you enable public sharing, your question (not personal identifiers) may appear in Popular Reflections. See the privacy policy for details.

What topics can I ask about?

Common themes include duty and action (karma yoga), work and livelihood, relationships, anxiety and fear, grief and loss, purpose, and spiritual practice — always framed through Bhagavad Gita verses. You do not need to be in crisis to use IndicLens; curiosity and study are welcome.
